Staff Nurse - Paediatrics Ward - PICU

The Staff Nurse - Paediatrics will provide child-focused nursing care, paediatric patient monitoring, medication administration, PICU support, doctor assistance, documentation, and compassionate communication with children and parents at Vijay Super Speciality Hospital, Dharmapuri. This requires DGNM or B.Sc Nursing qualification with 0–1 year of experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide bedside nursing care to paediatric patients in ward and PICU areas.
• Monitor vital signs, temperature, oxygen level, intake-output, pain, feeding, and patient condition.
• Administer medicines, injections, IV fluids, oxygen, nebulization, and prescribed paediatric nursing care safely.
• Assist doctors during paediatric rounds, procedures, emergency care, and clinical activities.
• Maintain nursing notes, medication charts, paediatric care records, and handover documentation.
• Support child comfort, feeding assistance, hygiene care, and parent communication under guidance.
• Follow infection control, hand hygiene, PPE, isolation, and biomedical waste management protocols.
• Report abnormal vitals, fever spikes, breathing difficulty, seizures, deterioration, or clinical changes immediately.
• Coordinate with doctors, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, billing, and patient care teams.
• Support admission, transfer, discharge, shifting, and emergency paediatric movement activities.
• Maintain child safety, privacy, dignity, and family-friendly communication.
• Deliver safe, gentle, ethical, and compassionate paediatric nursing care.
