The TMT Technician will be responsible for performing treadmill test procedures, preparing patients, operating TMT equipment, monitoring ECG changes, maintaining records, and coordinating with cardiologists and nursing teams at SMVS Swaminarayan Hospital, Gandhinagar. This requires Diploma in TMT or Certificate in TMT with 1–2 years of experience, technical accuracy, patient safety awareness, and knowledge of cardiac diagnostic workflow.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for treadmill test procedures as per cardiology department protocol.
- Verify patient identity, doctor advice, medical history, consent, and test requirements before TMT.
- Explain the procedure to patients and ensure comfort before starting the test.
- Attach ECG leads properly and check baseline ECG before exercise testing.
- Operate TMT machine and monitor ECG, heart rate, blood pressure, and patient symptoms during test.
- Identify abnormal ECG changes, chest pain, breathlessness, dizziness, or distress and alert the doctor immediately.
- Coordinate with cardiologist, physician, nurse, and emergency team during high-risk cases.
- Maintain TMT reports, patient records, procedure logs, and equipment usage documentation.
- Ensure emergency trolley, oxygen, BP apparatus, and required safety items are available before testing.
- Clean and maintain TMT machine, ECG cables, electrodes, and testing area.
- Follow infection control, patient safety, privacy, and department SOPs.
- Support ECG recording and other cardiac diagnostic activities when assigned.
- Prioritize urgent patients and coordinate test scheduling with front office or OPD team.
- Report machine errors, lead issues, or technical problems to biomedical or senior staff.
- Ensure accurate, safe, and patient-friendly cardiac diagnostic support.
