Job Description
The Senior Resident / Attending Consultant – Obstetrics and Gynecology will be responsible for managing patients across OPD, IPD, labour room, and emergency settings, including antenatal, intranatal, and postnatal care. The requires strong clinical expertise in obstetrics and gynecology, the ability to handle routine and high-risk cases, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver quality patient care.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for obstetric and gynecological patients.
- Manage antenatal, intranatal, and postnatal care for pregnant women.
- Conduct normal and assisted deliveries, including handling high-risk cases.
- Diagnose and treat gynecological conditions and disorders.
- Perform and assist in obstetric and gynecological surgeries and procedures.
- Monitor maternal and fetal health throughout pregnancy and delivery.
- Handle obstetric and gynecological emergencies effectively.
- Conduct patient consultations, examinations, and follow-up care.
- Interpret laboratory reports, ultrasound findings, and diagnostic tests.
- Counsel patients and families regarding treatment plans, procedures, and preventive care.
- Coordinate with neonatologists, anesthetists, and nursing staff for patient management.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records and documentation.
- Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and hospital policies.
- Participate in ward rounds, case discussions, and multidisciplinary meetings.
- Support family planning, infertility, and women’s health programs.
- Ensure compliance with NABH standards and ethical medical practices.
- Supervise and guide junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff.
- Participate in clinical audits, research, and continuous medical education.
- Stay updated with advancements in obstetrics and gynecology practices.
- Contribute to improving maternal and patient outcomes and quality of care.
