Surgery Physician Assistant

The Surgery Physician Assistant will support surgical consultants in OPD, emergency, pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient care at Bhatia Hospital, Mumbai. This requires B.Sc Physician Assistant or B.Sc Operation Theatre Technology qualification with 0–2 years of experience. The candidate should have knowledge of surgical workflow, emergency medicine, OT coordination, documentation, and patient care support.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during OPD consultations, ward rounds, emergency cases, and surgical planning.
• Support pre-operative patient assessment, investigation review, consent coordination, and documentation.
• Assist in operation theatre preparation, patient shifting, positioning, and surgical workflow.
• Monitor post-operative patients for vitals, pain, wound condition, drains, and recovery status.
• Coordinate with OT, nursing, ICU, pharmacy, radiology, laboratory, and billing teams.
• Maintain clinical notes, procedure records, progress notes, and discharge-related documentation.
• Support wound care, dressing assistance, minor procedure preparation, and patient follow-up.
• Escalate abnormal findings, complications, or emergency concerns to consultants promptly.
• Follow infection control, surgical safety, hand hygiene, and patient safety standards.
• Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality during all clinical activities.
• Support smooth communication between patients, attendants, and clinical teams.
• Ensure timely and safe surgical patient care coordination.
