ICU Technician

The ICU Technician will be responsible for assisting doctors and nurses in the intensive care unit, monitoring critically ill patients, managing life-support equipment, and ensuring adherence to safety and infection control protocols. The requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist in the care and monitoring of critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Operate and maintain life-support equipment such as ventilators, monitors, and infusion pumps.
• Record and monitor vital signs including ECG, pulse, oxygen saturation, and blood pressure.
• Assist doctors and nurses during procedures and emergency interventions.
• Ensure proper setup and functioning of ICU equipment before use.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of the ICU environment.
• Follow strict infection control and safety protocols.
• Assist in patient positioning, mobilization, and basic care support.
• Handle biomedical waste disposal as per hospital guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of patient monitoring and equipment usage.
• entify and report equipment malfunctions or abnormalities promptly.
• Ensure availability of ICU consumables and supplies.
• Support in emergency situations and participate in Code Blue calls.
• Coordinate with nursing and technical staff for smooth ICU operations.
• Follow hospital policies, SOPs, and NABH standards.
• Assist in maintaining patient comfort and safety.
• Participate in audits, quality checks, and training programs.
• Maintain professionalism and patient confidentiality at all times.
• Stay updated with ICU technologies and critical care practices.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by ICU Incharge or management.
