Developmental Disability Professionals Day

Developmental Disability Professionals Day is an annual observance that takes place on July 15th. The day is dedicated to recognizing the work of professionals who work with people with developmental disabilities. These professionals provide a wide range of services, including case management, residential support, employment assistance, and advocacy.

NDID was started by Justin Dart, Jr., a disability rights activist and former chairman of the National Council on Disability. Dart believed that the ADA was a major milestone in the fight for disability rights, and he wanted to create a day to celebrate its passage.
