Lab Technician

Lab Technician is responsible for collecting, processing, testing, and maintaining patient samples with accuracy and safety. The requires DMLT, BMLT, or B.Sc MLT qualification with knowledge of laboratory testing, phlebotomy, diagnostics, quality control, and patient care. Candidates should be able to manage lab workflows while maintaining hygiene, documentation, and report accuracy.

Role & Responsibilities

• Collect blood, urine, and other patient samples as per laboratory protocols.
• Perform routine laboratory tests with accuracy and proper technique.
• Label, process, store, and handle samples safely.
• Verify patient details before sample collection and testing.
• Support phlebotomy, diagnostics, and sample processing activities.
• Operate laboratory equipment and maintain cleanliness of instruments.
• Prepare reagents, slides, and testing materials as required.
• Maintain laboratory registers, reports, and test documentation.
• Follow infection control, biosafety, and quality control guidelines.
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and laboratory in-charge for test updates.
• Handle urgent and priority samples with proper attention.
• Ensure timely reporting and proper communication of test status.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient reports and laboratory data.
• Report equipment issues, abnormal findings, or sample concerns to seniors.
• Follow hospital laboratory standards and patient safety protocols.
