Job Description

The Registrar - Obstetrics And Gynaecology will support obstetric and gynecological patient care, labour room coordination, clinical training support, patient care supervision, resource management, and documentation at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad. This requires MS or DNB Obstetrics & Gynaecology qualification with 8–13 years of experience in patient care, training, relationship management, inventory management, resource management, and OBG services.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Attend obstetrics and gynaecology OPD, IPD, emergency, labour room, OT, and ward patients.
  • Assist consultants in antenatal care, postnatal care, gynecological assessment, procedures, and discharge planning.
  • Monitor maternal vitals, fetal status, labour progress, bleeding, pain, reports, and treatment response.
  • Support deliveries, C-section preparation, gynecological procedures, and post-operative monitoring under guidance.
  • Respond to obstetric emergencies such as fetal distress, bleeding, hypertension, high-risk pregnancy, and labour complications.
  • Maintain partographs, clinical notes, consent forms, procedure records, prescriptions, and discharge summaries.
  • Coordinate with labour room, OT, NICU, anaesthesia, nursing, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and billing teams.
  • Support training of junior clinical staff and nursing teams on OBG workflow and documentation.
  • Monitor inventory, resources, instruments, and department readiness for OBG services.
  • Counsel patients and families under senior guidance regarding pregnancy care, procedure process, and follow-up.
  • Follow maternity safety, infection control, patient privacy, dignity, and documentation standards.
  • Deliver respectful, safe, and patient-centered OBG care support.
