Technologist - Laboratory Medicine

The Technologist - Laboratory Medicine will perform laboratory testing, sample processing, blood bank support, microbiology, histopathology, hematology, molecular biology, and pathology documentation at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad. This requires B.Sc, MLT, or Laboratory Medicine qualification with 2–7 years of experience in molecular biology, pathology, blood bank, microbiology, histopathology, and hematology.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Collect, receive, label, process, and test patient samples as per laboratory protocol.
• Perform routine and specialized tests in hematology, microbiology, pathology, histopathology, and related lab sections.
• Support blood bank testing, sample verification, crossmatch support, and blood component documentation when assigned.
• Verify patient details, sample type, barcode, test request, and specimen quality before processing.
• Operate laboratory instruments and perform basic maintenance, calibration support, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain lab registers, test records, quality control data, equipment logs, and documentation accurately.
• Follow quality control procedures, internal controls, and reporting standards before result release.
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, phlebotomy, sample collection, reporting, and laboratory in-charge.
• Report critical values, sample rejection, hemolysis, contamination, or equipment issues immediately.
• Follow biosafety, infection control, PPE, biomedical waste, and sample disposal protocols.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient reports and laboratory data.
• Deliver accurate, timely, and quality-focused laboratory medicine support.
