Consultant Pathologist

Metropolis Healthcare Limited is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Consultant Pathologist to lead laboratory operations, ensure accurate diagnostic reporting, and drive excellence in quality systems and clinical practices. The involves overseeing end-to-end laboratory functions, interpreting complex test results, supporting clinical teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, and contributing to research and innovation in pathology.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Oversee overall laboratory operations ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of test results for all suitable samples.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to defined turnaround times (TAT) for all reports.
• Interpret laboratory results and provide expert diagnostic insights to clinicians.
• Support internal and external stakeholders with scientific and technical expertise.
• Implement and maintain a robust quality management system in the laboratory.
• Ensure compliance with NABL, CAP, and other regulatory/accreditation standards.
• Participate in internal and external quality assurance (QA) programs and audits.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols including biological, chemical, and physical hazards.
• Maintain a safe working environment for laboratory personnel.
• Monitor calibration, validation, and maintenance of laboratory instruments.
• Ensure proper execution of quality controls and validation procedures for accurate results.
• Coordinate with engineering and technical teams for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Address customer complaints and queries within defined SLAs and document interactions in CRM systems.
• Collaborate with clinicians and healthcare teams for better patient diagnosis and care.
• Engage with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and build strong professional networks.
• Participate in clinical research, innovation, and development of advanced diagnostic techniques.
• Publish research findings in scientific journals and present at conferences.
• Ensure proper documentation, record keeping, and data integrity across all lab processes.
• Train, mentor, and guide laboratory staff to maintain high performance standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for operational and diagnostic excellence.
• Ensure compliance with ethical practices, medical guidelines, and organizational policies.
