Job Description

Senior Associate Consultant - Centre for Cancer is responsible for managing oncology patients with senior clinical support responsibilities, including treatment planning assistance, multidisciplinary coordination, patient counselling, clinical documentation, and supervision of cancer care workflow. The requires MBBS, DNB, MD, DM, or MCh qualification with 4 to 6 years of experience. Candidates should have strong knowledge of oncology care pathways, clinical decision support, patient safety, and cancer treatment coordination.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Support senior oncology consultants in OPD, IPD, day-care, and procedure-based care.
  • Assist in diagnosis review, staging workup, treatment planning, and follow-up management.
  • Review pathology, biopsy, imaging, lab reports, tumor markers, and patient history.
  • Coordinate chemotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy, supportive care, and palliative care workflows.
  • Monitor oncology patients for treatment response, toxicity, complications, and clinical changes.
  • Participate in tumor board meetings and multidisciplinary treatment discussions.
  • Coordinate with oncology nurses, pharmacy, radiation team, pathology, radiology, ICU, and administration.
  • Maintain detailed oncology records, consent forms, prescriptions, clinical notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Support patient and family counselling under consultant direction.
  • Guide junior clinical staff in routine oncology workflow when required.
  • Track pending reports, treatment schedules, admissions, and follow-up requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to oncology protocols, infection control, and patient safety standards.
  • Support audits, quality indicators, clinical reviews, and oncology process improvement.
  • Maintain confidentiality and dignity of all cancer patients.
  • Deliver compassionate, ethical, and structured oncology care support.
