OPD Coordinator

The OPD Coordinator will manage outpatient department workflow, patient appointment coordination, doctor schedule support, patient guidance, report follow-up, billing coordination, and smooth OPD service delivery at the hospital. This requires strong communication skills, patient handling ability, computer knowledge, and the ability to coordinate between doctors, nurses, reception, billing, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and patient care teams.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily OPD patient flow and ensure smooth movement from registration to consultation.
• Manage doctor appointments, consultation timing, patient queue, and waiting area communication.
• Guide patients and attendants regarding OPD process, doctor availability, billing, diagnostics, reports, and follow-up.
• Coordinate with reception, billing, doctors, nurses, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and patient care teams.
• Track pending reports, investigations, prescriptions, follow-up visits, and patient service requirements.
• Handle patient queries politely and escalate complaints or delays to seniors when required.
• Maintain OPD registers, appointment records, patient trackers, daily reports, and coordination notes.
• Support doctors during OPD workflow by arranging patient files, reports, forms, and investigation details.
• Monitor waiting time, patient movement, and service delays to improve OPD experience.
• Coordinate emergency or priority OPD cases with concerned doctors and departments.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and hospital records.
• Ensure organized, timely, respectful, and patient-friendly OPD coordination.
