OT Scrub Nurse

The OT Scrub Nurse will assist surgeons during surgical procedures, maintain sterile technique, manage surgical instruments, support OT preparation, and ensure safe operation theatre workflow at Krishna Surgical Hospital, Ahmedabad. This requires GNM or B.Sc Nursing qualification with 1–2 years of OT nursing experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operation theatre, surgical instruments, sterile trays, gowns, gloves, and consumables before surgery.
• Scrub, gown, and glove properly as per OT sterile protocol.
• Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, sponges, and surgical materials.
• Maintain strict aseptic technique and sterile field throughout the surgery.
• Perform instrument, sponge, needle, and swab counts before, during, and after surgery.
• Coordinate with OT nurse, anaesthesia team, surgeons, CSSD, and support staff.
• Ensure availability of required instruments, implants, equipment, and emergency materials.
• Follow infection control, biomedical waste, OT safety, and sterilization protocols.
• Support patient positioning, draping, and surgical preparation under guidance.
• Report damaged instruments, missing items, contamination, or equipment issues immediately.
• Maintain OT records, surgical checklist support, and procedure-related documentation.
• Ensure safe, sterile, and smooth surgical assistance during OT procedures.
