Senior Registrar Surgery Department

The Senior Registrar - Surgery Department will support surgical patient assessment, consultant rounds, operative planning, post-operative monitoring, emergency surgical care, procedure assistance, and clinical documentation at Kalinga Hospital, Bhubaneswar. This requires MS or DNB in General Surgery with 5–10 years of post-PG experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Attend surgical OPD, IPD, emergency, OT, ward, and post-operative patients.
• Take detailed surgical history, perform clinical examination, and support treatment planning.
• Assist consultants during rounds, procedures, surgeries, admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Monitor post-operative patients, vitals, wounds, drains, pain, reports, and recovery progress.
• Support emergency surgical assessment, trauma care, wound care, dressing, and procedure coordination.
• Review lab reports, imaging reports, surgical findings, and patient response to treatment.
• Maintain case sheets, consent forms, progress notes, operative notes, procedure records, and discharge summaries.
• Coordinate with OT, ICU, nursing, anaesthesia, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and billing teams.
• Counsel patients and attendants under consultant guidance regarding surgery, recovery, and follow-up care.
• Guide junior doctors, medical officers, and clinical support staff when required.
• Follow surgical safety, infection control, patient safety, and documentation standards.
• Ensure safe, timely, ethical, and patient-focused surgical care support.
