ICU Nurse

The ICU Nurse will be responsible for managing critically ill patients in the intensive care unit with close monitoring, timely nursing interventions, and strict adherence to ICU protocols. The candidate should be skilled in monitoring vital signs, oxygen saturation, ECG, intake-output, neurological status, ventilator support needs, medication safety, and patient deterioration signs. This requires alertness, clinical discipline, emergency readiness, and the ability to coordinate with intensivists, neurologists, medical officers, nursing supervisors, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, and patient care teams.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide bedside nursing care to critically ill patients in ICU and neuro-critical care areas.
• Monitor vital signs, ECG, oxygen saturation, neurological status, intake-output, pain score, and patient condition.
• Administer medicines, injections, IV fluids, oxygen, and prescribed ICU nursing care safely.
• Assist doctors during ICU rounds, emergency procedures, resuscitation, dressing, and critical care activities.
• Support ventilator care, oxygen therapy, suctioning, catheter care, patient positioning, and pressure sore prevention.
• Maintain ICU charts, nursing notes, medication records, intake-output records, and handover documentation.
• Report abnormal vitals, patient deterioration, seizure activity, neurological changes, critical lab values, or clinical changes immediately.
• Coordinate with doctors, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, billing, and patient care teams.
• Follow infection control, hand hygiene, PPE, isolation, and biomedical waste management protocols.
• Support ICU admission, transfer, discharge, shifting, and emergency patient movement activities.
• Maintain patient comfort, privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
• Deliver safe, alert, ethical, and compassionate ICU nursing care.
