Infection Control Nurse

The Infection Control Nurse will help maintain hospital safety by monitoring infection prevention practices and ensuring compliance with infection control protocols. The candidate will coordinate with nursing, doctors, housekeeping, CSSD, laboratory, quality, and administration teams to reduce infection risks and support a safe healthcare environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct infection control rounds across wards, ICU, OT, emergency, and clinical areas.
• Monitor hand hygiene, PPE usage, isolation practices, biomedical waste, and cleaning protocols.
• Support surveillance of hospital-acquired infections and infection-related data collection.
• Maintain infection control records, audit reports, compliance checklists, and training documents.
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, housekeeping, CSSD, laboratory, quality, and administration teams.
• Train staff on infection prevention, hand hygiene, PPE, spill management, and biomedical waste handling.
• Report infection control breaches, unsafe practices, or high-risk observations to seniors.
• Support outbreak investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
• Review sterilization, disinfection, and environmental cleaning practices.
• Participate in quality audits, NABH-related compliance, and infection control meetings.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional communication.
• Ensure safe, hygienic, and infection-control-focused hospital practices.
