The Resident Emergency will support emergency medicine services, patient assessment, acute stabilization, emergency response, trauma care, patient monitoring, and emergency documentation at Fortis Hospitals, Mumbai. This requires MBBS with MD Emergency Medicine preferred and 0–4 years of experience.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Attend emergency, casualty, trauma, acute medical, surgical, and critical patients during duty hours.
- Support triage, initial assessment, history taking, examination, and emergency treatment planning.
- Assist in stabilizing patients with trauma, chest pain, respiratory distress, seizures, poisoning, shock, and acute illness.
- Support CPR, resuscitation, airway assistance, suturing, dressing, splinting, and emergency procedures under supervision.
- Monitor vitals, ECG, oxygen saturation, lab reports, imaging findings, and response to emergency treatment.
- Coordinate with ICU, OT, radiology, laboratory, pharmacy, nursing, ambulance, and billing teams.
- Maintain emergency records, prescriptions, treatment notes, consent forms, procedure notes, and handover documentation.
- Escalate critical patients and abnormal findings to emergency consultants or specialty teams immediately.
- Support admission, referral, transfer, discharge, and patient movement coordination.
- Counsel patients and attendants under senior guidance in emergency situations.
- Follow ACLS, BLS, emergency protocols, infection control, patient safety, and documentation standards.
- Deliver fast, safe, ethical, and patient-centered emergency medical care support.
