Consultant Anaesthesia

Consultant Anaesthesia is responsible for providing anesthesia care during surgical procedures, managing perioperative patient safety, supporting critical care, and monitoring patients before, during, and after anesthesia. The requires MD, DNB Anaesthesia, or MBBS qualification with relevant consultant-level experience. Candidates should have strong knowledge of anesthesiology, OT support, patient monitoring, emergency care, and critical care management.

Role & Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care for surgical and procedural cases.
• Conduct pre-anesthesia checkups and patient fitness assessment.
• Plan suitable anesthesia technique based on patient condition and procedure type.
• Administer general, regional, spinal, epidural, or local anesthesia as required.
• Monitor patient vitals and anesthesia depth during procedures.
• Coordinate with surgeons, OT staff, nurses, and critical care teams.
• Manage airway, ventilation, pain control, and perioperative safety.
• Handle anesthesia-related emergencies and complications promptly.
• Support ICU, critical care, and emergency resuscitation when required.
• Maintain accurate anesthesia records and procedure documentation.
• Ensure availability and readiness of anesthesia drugs and equipment.
• Follow infection control, OT safety, and hospital anesthesia protocols.
• Counsel patients regarding anesthesia process, risks, and precautions.
• Participate in surgical planning and multidisciplinary clinical coordination.
• Deliver safe, ethical, and patient-focused anesthesia care.
