Pleural fluid analysis is a diagnostic procedure used to evaluate the fluid that accumulates in the pleural cavity, the space between the lungs and the chest wall. It helps in identifying the cause of pleural effusions, such as infections, cancer, or heart failure.

The amylase test measures the levels of amylase, an enzyme produced by the pancreas and salivary glands, in the blood. It helps diagnose pancreatic and salivary gland disorders.
