Assistant Manager, Electrical Engineering

Amneal Pharmaceuticals is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Assistant Manager – Electrical Engineering to lead the design, execution, and maintenance of electrical infrastructure and automation systems within a regulated pharmaceutical environment. The involves planning and implementing robust electrical systems, coordinating cross-functional project execution, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will play a key in project delivery, vendor management, system commissioning, and continuous improvement of electrical and automation operations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design and implement electrical infrastructure and automation systems for plant operations.
• Prepare and review technical documents including SLDs, load schedules, panel specifications, lighting layouts, and power distribution schemes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as IEC, IS, GEP, and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, automation, QA, and EHS teams for seamless project execution.
• Plan and track project timelines, ensuring timely completion of all electrical activities.
• entify and resolve project execution bottlenecks proactively.
• Manage vendors and contractors, ensuring quality work, safety compliance, and cost efficiency.
• Oversee installation and commissioning of electrical systems including HT/LT panels, transformers, DG sets, UPS, fire alarm systems, and BMS interfaces.
• Ensure proper integration of electrical systems with automation platforms like SCADA and PLC.
• Monitor and maintain electrical systems for optimal performance and reliability.
• Maintain and update electrical documentation, drawings, and technical records.
• Support regulatory inspections, audits, and validation activities with accurate documentation.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, electrical codes, and EHS guidelines.
• Perform load calculations, cable sizing, earthing design, and system optimization.
• Utilize engineering tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, Dialux, and project management software (MS Project/Primavera).
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for electrical systems.
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members and stakeholders.
• Lead discussions with regulatory, validation, and audit teams as required.
• Ensure proper planning, execution, and monitoring of maintenance activities.
• Maintain high discipline in schedule adherence and issue resolution.
• Analyze system performance and recommend improvements for efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align project and operational goals.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in electrical and automation systems.
• Ensure proper documentation practices and clarity in all engineering activities.
• Demonstrate strong decision-making, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
