Job Description
Radiant Super Speciality Hospital is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented OT Technician to support surgical operations by ensuring proper preparation of operation theatres, equipment handling, and maintenance of sterile conditions. The involves assisting surgical teams, managing instruments, and ensuring smooth functioning of OT procedures in compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain operation theatre (OT) for scheduled and emergency surgeries.
- Ensure availability and proper arrangement of surgical instruments, equipment, and consumables.
- Sterilize surgical instruments and OT equipment as per infection control protocols.
- Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff during surgical procedures.
- Set up and operate OT equipment such as suction machines, cautery, monitors, and lights.
- Maintain strict aseptic conditions and infection control standards in the OT.
- Check functionality and readiness of all OT equipment before procedures.
- Assist in patient positioning and shifting before and after surgery.
- Handle surgical instruments during procedures as required by the surgical team.
- Ensure proper labeling, handling, and transfer of surgical specimens.
- Participate in cleaning and disinfection of OT after each procedure.
- Maintain OT inventory and ensure availability of required supplies.
- Report equipment malfunction or shortages to the concerned department.
- Follow biomedical waste management protocols for safe disposal.
- Maintain accurate OT records, logs, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, SOPs, and safety guidelines.
- Assist in emergency surgeries and remain available for on-call duties.
- Coordinate with CSSD and other departments for instrument availability.
- Participate in training and continuous skill development programs.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of sterile and non-sterile items.
