Job Description

Apollo Hospitals is seeking a Pharmacy Trainee to assist in day-to-day pharmacy activities including dispensing medicines, inventory control, billing, and customer service. The involves working closely with pharmacists to ensure accurate medication handling, maintaining stock availability, and delivering a high standard of patient care while adhering to safety and regulatory guidelines.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in dispensing medicines as per prescriptions while ensuring accuracy in drug details, dosage, quantity, and expiry
  • Coordinate with in-house pharmacies to arrange unavailable medicines and ensure complete prescription fulfillment
  • Verify dispensed medicines against billing details including patient name, batch number, MRP, and expiry
  • Monitor stock levels, raise indents, and maintain accurate inventory records in the system
  • Provide basic patient counseling on medication usage, precautions, and general health queries
  • Handle customer interactions, inbound calls, and coordinate timely home delivery of medicines
  • Support billing activities including invoice generation and cash handling when required
  • Ensure proper storage of medicines, including maintaining cold chain requirements for sensitive products
  • Verify received stock from stores and update inventory records accurately
  • Coordinate stock transfers between branches or distribution centers during urgent requirements
  • Maintain records of out-of-stock items and follow up for replenishment
  • Perform regular physical stock verification and ensure proper organization of pharmacy inventory
  • Ensure proper shift handover and maintain cleanliness and discipline in the work area
  • Support sales targets and assist in overall pharmacy operations
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by the reporting manager as per operational requirements
