Senior Consultant – Obstetrics & Gynaecology (OBG)

The Senior Consultant – OBG will play a leadership in providing end-to-end care for women, including pregnancy management, gynecological treatments, and surgical interventions. This requires strong clinical expertise, surgical proficiency, and the ability to manage high-risk cases while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care across OPD, IPD, and emergency settings.
• Manage routine and high-risk pregnancies, ensuring maternal and fetal well-being.
• Conduct normal deliveries, assisted deliveries, and cesarean sections.
• Diagnose and treat gynecological conditions such as fibroids, PCOS, endometriosis, infections, and menstrual disorders.
• Perform advanced gynecological and obstetric surgeries including hysterectomy, laparoscopy, and other minimally invasive procedures.
• Conduct prenatal and postnatal care, including monitoring and counseling patients.
• Manage obstetric and gynecological emergencies effectively.
• Interpret diagnostic tests including ultrasound, laboratory reports, and screening results.
• Provide family planning services, contraceptive counseling, and fertility guidance.
• Collaborate with neonatologists, anesthetists, and other specialists for comprehensive patient care.
• Supervise and mentor junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff.
• Ensure accurate and detailed documentation of patient records and clinical procedures.
• Maintain adherence to infection control practices, safety protocols, and hospital guidelines.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case discussions, and clinical audits.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and contribute to accreditation processes.
• Educate patients on reproductive health, prenatal care, and lifestyle modifications.
• Handle medico-legal cases with appropriate documentation and compliance.
