Job Description

Nursing Officer is responsible for providing professional nursing care, monitoring patient conditions, assisting doctors during treatments and procedures, and ensuring high standards of patient safety and healthcare services. The involves administering medications, maintaining clinical documentation, supervising patient care activities, and coordinating with healthcare teams for effective treatment and recovery.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients as per prescribed treatment plans and hospital protocols.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, clinical conditions, and treatment responses regularly.
  • Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and treatments accurately as prescribed by doctors.
  • Assist doctors during patient examinations, procedures, surgeries, and emergency situations.
  • Maintain accurate nursing records, treatment charts, and patient documentation.
  • Ensure patient comfort, hygiene, safety, and emotional support during hospitalization.
  • Follow infection control guidelines, nursing protocols, and patient safety standards.
  • Assist in patient admission, transfer, discharge, and referral procedures.
  • Coordinate with doctors, nursing supervisors, and healthcare teams for smooth patient care management.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide immediate nursing support when required.
  • Educate patients and family members regarding medications, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
  • Supervise and ensure proper handling of medical equipment and nursing supplies.
  • Monitor inventory of nursing materials and report shortages or requirements timely.
  • Participate in ward rounds, shift handovers, and departmental meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with NABH standards, hospital policies, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and healthcare records.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives, audits, and patient care programs.
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered, and ethical nursing care at all times.
  • Assist in training and guiding junior nursing staff when required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safe environment within patient care areas.
