Job Description
The Optometrist will be responsible for conducting eye examinations, diagnosing vision problems, and prescribing corrective lenses or treatments. The involves assessing overall eye health,entifying abnormalities, and providing appropriate care or referrals when required. The candidate will collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure accurate diagnosis and patient-centered care while maintaining proper documentation and adherence to clinical standards.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and detailed vision assessments.
- Diagnose refractive errors and prescribe glasses or contact lenses.
- Perform refraction tests, visual acuity tests, and binocular vision assessments.
- Detect and manage common eye conditions such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia.
- entify early signs of eye diseases and refer patients to ophthalmologists when necessary.
- Use and maintain ophthalmic diagnostic equipment effectively.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative support for eye-related procedures.
- Educate patients on eye care, hygiene, and preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate patient records, prescriptions, and examination reports.
- Assist patients in selecting appropriate frames, lenses, and optical products.
- Monitor patient progress and schedule follow-up consultations.
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of optical instruments.
- Follow clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Coordinate with optical staff and healthcare teams for seamless service delivery.
- Handle patient queries and provide professional guidance.
- Participate in vision screening camps and awareness programs.
- Maintain inventory of optical supplies and ensure availability.
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards in the examination area.
