Laboratory Assistant

The Laboratory Assistant will support laboratory sample handling, patient coordination, basic lab preparation, documentation, cleaning, and technical assistance at Cenora Medical Center, Pandikkad. This requires DMLT qualification with minimum 1 year of experience in laboratory support or diagnostic workflow.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist laboratory technicians in sample collection, labeling, and processing activities.
• Receive samples and verify patient details, test request, and sample condition.
• Support basic laboratory preparation, reagent arrangement, and consumable readiness.
• Maintain sample registers, records, and daily laboratory documentation.
• Keep laboratory area clean, organized, and ready for daily operations.
• Follow biosafety, PPE, hand hygiene, and biomedical waste disposal practices.
• Coordinate with patients, nurses, front office, and lab technicians when required.
• Help in sample transport, report dispatch, and basic department coordination.
• Report sample mismatch, leakage, rejection, or shortage of materials to seniors.
• Support equipment cleaning and basic maintenance under guidance.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient test information.
• Ensure smooth and safe laboratory assistance.
