Job Description

Senior Associate Consultant - Plastic Surgery is responsible for managing advanced plastic and reconstructive surgery cases, supporting surgical planning, leading patient care, supervising junior teams, and ensuring safe surgical outcomes. The requires MBBS with MS, DNB, MCh, DM, or relevant qualification and 0 to 5 years of experience. Candidates should have strong knowledge of reconstructive surgery, wound care, trauma reconstruction, cosmetic procedures, and surgical patient management.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage plastic, reconstructive, cosmetic, burns, trauma, and wound care patients.
  • Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prepare surgical treatment plans.
  • Perform or assist in reconstructive and plastic surgery procedures as per competency.
  • Supervise clinical assistants, junior doctors, and support teams during patient care.
  • Review investigations, imaging, clinical history, and surgical risk factors.
  • Provide pre-operative counselling, consent support, and procedure explanation.
  • Manage post-operative recovery, wound healing, graft care, flap monitoring, and complications.
  • Coordinate with anaesthesia, OT, ICU, nursing, emergency, rehabilitation, and other specialties.
  • Maintain operative notes, clinical documentation, prescriptions, and discharge summaries.
  • Monitor surgical outcomes and ensure timely follow-up care.
  • Follow infection control, surgical safety checklist, and hospital protocols.
  • Support emergency plastic surgery cases, trauma reconstruction, and urgent wound management.
  • Participate in audits, academic discussions, case presentations, and quality initiatives.
  • Maintain ethical practice, confidentiality, and patient-centered communication.
  • Deliver high-quality, safe, and outcome-focused plastic surgery services.
