Job Description

Senior Associate Consultant - Critical Care Medicine is responsible for leading advanced ICU care, managing complex critically ill patients, supervising clinical teams, and ensuring high-quality critical care outcomes. The requires MBBS with MD or DNB qualification and fellowship exposure in Medicine or Anaesthesia with 5 to 10 years of experience. Candidates should have strong leadership in ICU management, ventilator care, emergency response, clinical decision-making, and multidisciplinary coordination.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead management of complex ICU and critical care patients.
  • Supervise daily ICU rounds, treatment planning, and critical care decisions.
  • Manage ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, oxygen support, sedation, fluids, and organ support.
  • Treat sepsis, shock, respiratory failure, trauma, multi-organ dysfunction, and post-operative critical cases.
  • Review clinical parameters, ABG, ECG, imaging, cultures, and laboratory findings.
  • Guide associate consultants, clinical assistants, RMOs, and ICU nursing teams.
  • Coordinate with specialists, surgeons, anaesthetists, emergency, radiology, lab, and pharmacy teams.
  • Lead emergency response, CPR, code blue, and resuscitation activities.
  • Ensure accurate ICU documentation, clinical handovers, and treatment records.
  • Monitor patient progress and revise treatment plans based on clinical response.
  • Communicate critical updates to patient families with empathy and clarity.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control, patient safety, and critical care protocols.
  • Participate in morbidity reviews, audits, clinical governance, and quality improvement.
  • Support training and mentoring of junior medical and nursing staff.
  • Deliver safe, ethical, evidence-based, and patient-focused critical care leadership.
