Job Description

The Billing Executive will play a key in handling OPD/IPD billing, payment processing, and financial documentation while ensuring accuracy and transparency in all transactions. This requires strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The candidate must ensure smooth coordination with patients, insurance teams, accounts, and clinical departments for timely and error-free billing operations.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Generate accurate OPD, IPD, pharmacy, laboratory, and procedure bills.
  • Verify patient details, treatment charges, investigations, and service entries before final billing.
  • Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, diagnostics, and pharmacy departments for billing accuracy.
  • Process patient admissions, advance deposits, and discharge billing efficiently.
  • Handle cash, card, online, and insurance-related transactions securely.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of final discharge bills.
  • Coordinate with insurance and TPA teams for approval and billing support.
  • Address patient and attendant billing queries with professionalism and clarity.
  • Maintain transparency while explaining charges, estimates, and payment details.
  • Process refunds, adjustments, and cancellations as per organizational policies.
  • Maintain accurate billing records and documentation in HIS/ERP systems.
  • Ensure proper reconciliation of collections and daily financial transactions.
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly billing reports and MIS.
  • Monitor pending bills and coordinate for timely closures and recoveries.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital billing policies and financial procedures.
  • Support audit activities and maintain audit-ready billing documentation.
  • Coordinate with accounts department for payment reconciliation and reporting.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of patient and financial information.
  • Handle emergency and priority billing cases efficiently.
  • Maintain proper filing and documentation of bills, receipts, and approvals.
  • Ensure smooth patient discharge processes without unnecessary delays.
  • Follow NABH standards and hospital service quality guidelines.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to reduce billing errors.
  • Assist in training junior staff on billing systems and procedures when required.
  • Maintain professionalism, communication standards, and customer service excellence.
  • Handle high workload efficiently during peak operational hours.
  • Coordinate with front office and customer care teams for seamless patient support.
  • Maintain discipline, punctuality, and accountability in all tasks.
  • Stay updated with billing software, healthcare policies, and insurance processes.
  • Contribute to improving operational efficiency, revenue cycle management, and patient satisfaction.
