Microbiologist

The Microbiologist will conduct microbiological testing of clinical samples,entify pathogens, and provide accurate and timely reports to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment. The also involves maintaining quality standards, supporting infection control programs, and ensuring compliance with NABH/NABL guidelines.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Perform microbiological testing of clinical samples including culture, sensitivity, staining, and serological tests.
• entify microorganisms and prepare accurate and timely laboratory reports.
• Interpret test results and assist clinicians in diagnosis and treatment planning when required.
• Ensure strict adherence to laboratory protocols, quality control measures, and standard procedures.
• Monitor and support hospital infection control practices and programs.
• Conduct antimicrobial susceptibility testing and guide appropriate antibiotic usage.
• Maintain proper documentation, records, and laboratory registers.
• Ensure compliance with NABH/NABL standards and laboratory safety guidelines.
• Participate in internal and external quality assurance programs.
• Coordinate with clinicians, infection control teams, and other departments for effective patient care.
• Monitor and manage laboratory inventory, reagents, and consumables.
• Handle biomedical waste disposal as per regulatory requirements.
• Report any abnormal findings, outbreaks, or unusual trends to the concerned authorities.
• Assist in audits, accreditation processes, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
