Nursing Supervisor

The Nursing Supervisor will be responsible for supervising nursing operations, duty allocation, patient care quality, staff coordination, documentation compliance, and infection control practices across hospital departments. This requires B.Sc Nursing or GNM qualification, leadership skills, clinical nursing experience, and strong coordination with doctors, nursing teams, patients, and administration. The candidate will ensure smooth nursing workflow, staff discipline, and high-quality patient care at Paras Health, Kanpur.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Supervise daily nursing activities across assigned wards, ICU, CCU, OT, and patient care areas.
• Allocate nursing duties, monitor shift coverage, and ensure proper staff deployment.
• Guide nurses in bedside care, medication administration, patient monitoring, and emergency response.
• Check nursing documentation including medication charts, handover notes, vitals records, and patient files.
• Coordinate with doctors, consultants, nursing in-charge, and hospital departments for patient care planning.
• Monitor patient care quality, safety practices, infection control, and nursing service standards.
• Handle patient and relative concerns related to nursing care professionally.
• Ensure timely administration of medicines, investigations, procedures, and clinical instructions.
• Train junior nurses on SOPs, patient communication, clinical procedures, and documentation standards.
• Monitor availability of emergency medicines, nursing supplies, equipment, and ward materials.
• Identify incidents, complaints, clinical risks, or service gaps and escalate to management promptly.
• Support admission, transfer, discharge, OT shifting, ICU movement, and emergency coordination.
• Maintain staff discipline, grooming, punctuality, and professional behavior during duty.
• Support audits, quality checks, NABH practices, and nursing process improvement activities.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, patient safety, and compassionate nursing culture.
