CSSD Technician

BT Savani Kidney Hospital is seeking a responsible and detail-oriented CSSD Technician to manage sterilization processes and ensure the availability of safe, sterile medical instruments across all departments. The ideal candidate will play a crucial in infection control by following proper sterilization protocols and maintaining high standards of hygiene.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ETO machines, and washer disinfectors
• Ensure proper segregation, packaging, labeling, and storage of sterile and non-sterile items
• Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, logs, and inventory
• Follow strict infection control policies and biomedical waste management protocols
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage before sterilization
• Coordinate with OT, wards, and other departments for timely supply of sterile instruments
• Ensure adherence to hospital standards, quality guidelines, and safety procedures
• Assist in maintaining stock levels of sterilization supplies and consumables
• Support audits and ensure compliance with accreditation requirements

The need for a dedicated kidney hospital in Saurashtra became evident as a significant number of patients were traveling to Ahmedabad and Nadiad for treatment. Recognizing this gap, Dr. Pradip Kansagra envisioned a tertiary care kidney hospital in Rajkot.

With the support of philanthropists including Late Shree Devjibhai Patel, Shree Rameshbhai Patel, Shree Jayantibhai Faldu, and Dr. Vivek Joshi, the “Saurashtra Kidney Research Institute” was established as a charitable trust. The project gained momentum with generous contributions from society, including a major donation by Late Shree Bhagwanjibhai T. Savani.

Construction began in 1998 and was completed in 2002, with the hospital formally inaugurated on 2nd February 2003. Over the years, through the dedication of trustees, doctors, and staff, the hospital has built a strong reputation across Gujarat and India.
