Costing Trainee

The Costing Trainee will assist the finance and costing team in maintaining cost records, analyzing production and operational expenses, preparing reports, and supporting budgeting and inventory control activities. The provides hands-on exposure to cost accounting practices, financial reporting, and business analysis within the pharmaceutical industry. The candidate should possess strong numerical, analytical, and organizational skills.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparation and maintenance of cost sheets and costing records.
• Support product costing, inventory valuation, and material consumption analysis.
• Assist in tracking manufacturing costs, operational expenses, and overhead allocations.
• Prepare MIS reports, cost analysis reports, and financial summaries for management review.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.
• Coordinate with production, procurement, stores, and finance departments for cost-related data collection.
• Assist in stock reconciliation and inventory monitoring activities.
• Verify invoices, purchase records, and supporting financial documents.
• Maintain accurate financial and costing documentation and records.
• Support monthly and yearly closing activities related to costing and finance.
• Assist inentifying opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency improvements.
• Ensure proper filing and maintenance of costing and accounting reports.
• Support audit activities by preparing required data and documentation.
• Assist in maintaining ERP/accounting software data accurately.
• Monitor material usage trends and support inventory control measures.
• Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of financial and costing information.
• Follow company accounting policies, SOPs, and financial procedures.
• Support implementation of internal controls and compliance activities.
• Coordinate with senior finance team members for reporting and analysis requirements.
• Stay updated with cost accounting practices, financial standards, and industry trends.
