Fire & Safety (EHS) Asst. Manager

The Fire & Safety (EHS) Assistant Manager will be responsible for implementing and monitoring EHS policies, fire safety systems, risk assessment programs, and safety compliance activities across the organization. The involves conducting safety audits, emergency preparedness planning, employee training, incident investigation, and ensuring adherence to environmental and occupational safety regulations. The candidate will play a key in promoting a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Implement and monitor EHS policies, procedures, and safety management systems.
• Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations, environmental laws, and occupational health standards.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across plant and facility areas.
• Monitor fire protection systems, firefighting equipment, alarms, and emergency response systems.
• Develop and implement emergency preparedness and evacuation plans.
• Conduct fire drills, mock drills, and safety awareness programs for employees.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to workplace safety practices.
• Coordinate with government authorities, auditors, and regulatory agencies regarding EHS compliance.
• Maintain EHS documentation, permits, records, reports, and statutory registers accurately.
• Monitor hazardous waste management and environmental compliance activities.
• Support implementation of sustainability and environmental improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Ensure contractor safety compliance during maintenance and project activities.
• Prepare EHS reports, incident analysis, and MIS documentation for management review.
• Monitor workplace conditions to ensure employee health and safety standards are maintained.
• Support internal audits, external audits, and compliance inspections.
• Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement within the organization.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and testing of safety equipment and systems.
• Stay updated with latest EHS regulations, fire safety standards, and industry best practices.
