Job Description
The Staff Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care in various departments including Operation Theatre (OT), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), wards, emergency, and OPD. This requires strong clinical knowledge, adaptability, and the ability to handle diverse patient care situations.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care across assigned departments (OT, ICU, Ward, Emergency, OPD).
- Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and patient progress regularly.
- Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed.
- Assist doctors during procedures, surgeries, and emergency interventions.
- Deliver pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
- Manage critically ill patients in ICU and respond to emergencies promptly.
- Handle triage and patient stabilization in emergency settings.
- Support OPD consultations and ensure smooth patient flow.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing records and documentation.
- Ensure adherence to infection control, sterilization, and patient safety protocols.
- Assist in patient admission, discharge, and transfer processes.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and care instructions.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in patient care areas.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of medical equipment.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for effective patient care.
- Monitor patient conditions and report any changes to doctors immediately.
- Ensure proper biomedical waste disposal as per guidelines.
- Participate in shift handovers and ensure continuity of care.
- Follow hospital policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
- Work in rotational shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Participate in training programs and continuous professional development.
- Maintain professionalism, empathy, and ethical standards in patient care.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and families.
- Contribute to improving patient outcomes and healthcare service quality.
