Job Description
The Electrical Plant Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, panels, motors, equipment, and plant utilities in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This requires hands-on electrical maintenance skills, preventive maintenance knowledge, safety awareness, and documentation discipline. The candidate will support smooth plant operations by reducing breakdowns, ensuring equipment reliability, and following GMP and electrical safety standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of plant electrical systems and equipment.
- Inspect electrical panels, motors, starters, drives, wiring, control circuits, and utility systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and support timely restoration of equipment operations.
- Maintain electrical maintenance records, checklists, logbooks, and breakdown reports.
- Follow lockout-tagout procedures, PPE requirements, and electrical safety practices.
- Support installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment when required.
- Monitor power supply, load distribution, electrical safety conditions, and equipment performance.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, QA, and maintenance teams during repair activities.
- Report abnormal heating, sparking, tripping, noise, vibration, or unsafe electrical conditions.
- Assist in preventive maintenance of motors, pumps, control panels, lighting, and utility equipment.
- Maintain proper arrangement and safe handling of electrical tools, spares, and consumables.
- Support calibration, validation, and qualification-related electrical activities when assigned.
- Ensure all maintenance work follows SOPs, GMP expectations, and company safety policies.
- Help reduce machine downtime, repeated failures, and production interruptions.
- Maintain cleanliness and safe working conditions in electrical and engineering areas.
