Job Description
The Quality Control Officer / Executive will be responsible for performing analytical testing, sample analysis, documentation, and quality control activities in a pharmaceutical laboratory. This requires knowledge of QC testing, analytical instruments, GLP, GMP, data integrity, and laboratory safety. The candidate will support testing of raw materials, intermediates, finished products, and stability samples while ensuring accurate results, timely reporting, and compliance with approved specifications.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform quality control testing of raw materials, intermediates, finished products, and stability samples.
- Conduct analytical tests such as assay, impurities, dissolution, moisture, pH, identification, and related evaluations.
- Operate instruments such as HPLC, GC, UV, FTIR, dissolution apparatus, and other laboratory equipment.
- Prepare standards, reagents, mobile phases, buffers, and sample solutions as per approved procedures.
- Record raw data, chromatograms, calculations, worksheets, and laboratory observations accurately.
- Review test results against approved specifications and report abnormal findings to seniors.
- Follow GLP, GMP, data integrity, laboratory safety, and documentation requirements.
- Maintain instrument usage logs, calibration records, sample records, and laboratory notebooks.
- Support method verification, method transfer, and routine analytical troubleshooting when required.
- Coordinate with QA, production, warehouse, and stability teams for sample testing and release activities.
- Participate in investigations related to OOS, OOT, deviations, and analytical errors.
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, handling, and disposal of samples, standards, and reagents.
- Maintain cleanliness, chemical inventory, glassware, columns, and consumables in the QC laboratory.
- Complete assigned testing activities within defined timelines without compromising accuracy.
- Support audits, inspections, and compliance activities related to quality control operations.
