Senior Technologist - Radiotherapy

The Senior Technologist - Radiotherapy is responsible for assisting in radiotherapy treatment planning, machine operation, patient positioning, radiation safety, and technical support during cancer treatment procedures. The requires knowledge of radiotherapy equipment, imaging protocols, patient care, and quality assurance practices. The candidate should work closely with radiation oncologists, physicists, and clinical teams to ensure accurate and safe treatment delivery.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Operate radiotherapy equipment as per prescribed treatment protocols.
• Assist radiation oncologists and medical physicists during treatment planning and execution.
• Ensure accurate patient positioning, immobilization, and treatment field alignment.
• Verify patient identity, treatment site, and prescribed radiation dose before procedures.
• Maintain radiation safety standards for patients, staff, and treatment areas.
• Perform routine equipment checks and report technical issues immediately.
• Support simulation, imaging, and treatment verification procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of radiotherapy sessions and patient treatment details.
• Explain procedure instructions to patients and provide basic comfort support.
• Follow departmental SOPs, infection control practices, and safety guidelines.
• Assist in quality assurance activities related to radiotherapy machines and accessories.
• Coordinate with nursing, oncology, and diagnostic teams for patient care continuity.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records and clinical information.
• Support emergency response protocols during treatment-related complications.
