Chemist

The Chemist will be responsible for sampling, testing, and analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. The involves operating analytical instruments, maintaining documentation, and ensuring adherence to GLP, GDP, and regulatory requirements to support consistent product quality and timely batch release.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Perform sampling and analysis of raw materials, packing materials, in-process samples, finished products, and stability samples as per approved specifications and SOPs.
• Operate analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC, UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, FTIR, Dissolution apparatus, and other laboratory equipment.
• Prepare and standardize reagents, solutions, and reference standards required for analysis.
• Record, review, and report analytical data accurately in compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Ensure adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), cGMP guidelines, and data integrity (ALCOA+) principles.
• Maintain laboratory records including logbooks, worksheets, registers, and instrument usage logs.
• Perform calibration of instruments and ensure equipment is within valid calibration status before use.
• Support qualification activities such as IQ, OQ, and PQ for laboratory instruments and equipment.
• entify and report Out of Specification (OOS), Out of Trend (OOT), and abnormal results to seniors for further investigation.
• Assist in root cause analysis (RCA) and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Conduct routine environmental monitoring and ensure compliance with specified laboratory conditions.
• Coordinate with QA for documentation review and batch release support.
• Maintain proper labeling, storage, and traceability of samples, chemicals, and reagents.
• Ensure timely analysis to support production schedules and avoid delays in batch release.
• Participate in method validation, verification, and transfer activities when required.
• Ensure proper disposal of tested samples, chemicals, and laboratory waste as per SOPs and EHS guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards within the laboratory.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and ensuring audit readiness.
• Collaborate with Production, QA, and R&D teams for investigation and continuous improvement activities.
• Monitor stock levels of laboratory consumables and raise requisitions as needed.
• Follow safety practices and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during all lab operations.
• Stay updated with pharmacopeial requirements and regulatory guidelines.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency and quality systems.
