Intensivist Doctor

The Intensivist Doctor plays a vital in delivering comprehensive critical care by managing life-threatening conditions, utilizing advanced life-support technologies, and making rapid clinical decisions. This requires strong clinical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to work efficiently in high-pressure ICU environments.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and manage critically ill patients with severe and life-threatening conditions in the ICU.
• Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans including medication management and advanced life support.
• Monitor patient vitals continuously, including hemodynamic parameters, ventilator settings, and organ function.
• Perform advanced procedures such as central line insertion, arterial line placement, intubation, bronchoscopy, and other ICU interventions.
• Manage ventilators and other life-support systems, ensuring optimal patient support.
• Lead and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, respiratory therapists, and specialists.
• Respond promptly to ICU emergencies, including code blue situations and rapid deterioration of patients.
• Supervise and guide junior doctors, residents, and ICU staff.
• Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely clinical documentation and patient records.
• Communicate effectively with patients’ families regarding condition, treatment plans, and prognosis.
• Provide counseling on critical decisions including end-of-life care and ethical considerations.
• Collaborate with other departments for holistic patient care and timely interventions.
• Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, ICU safety standards, and hospital policies.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, case discussions, and clinical audits.
