Job Description
The Emergency Care Technician will be responsible for assisting in emergency medical care, stabilizing patients, and supporting doctors and nurses during critical situations. The involves handling emergency equipment, providing basic life support, and ensuring quick response to medical emergencies. The candidate will work closely with the emergency department team to ensure timely and effective patient care while maintaining safety and clinical protocols.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Assist in providing immediate care to patients in emergency and trauma situations.
- Perform basic life support (BLS) and assist in advanced life support (ALS) procedures.
- Monitor vital signs and patient condition during emergencies.
- Assist doctors and nurses during emergency treatments and procedures.
- Prepare and manage emergency equipment, crash carts, and medical supplies.
- Ensure readiness and proper functioning of emergency medical equipment.
- Transport patients safely within the hospital for tests, procedures, or admissions.
- Assist in patient stabilization and triage processes.
- Handle ambulance support and pre-hospital care when required.
- Maintain accurate records of emergency cases and procedures.
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain hygiene standards.
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergency calls and codes.
- Assist in wound care, dressing, and basic medical procedures.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for seamless patient care.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and emergency care protocols.
- Participate in mock drills, emergency preparedness training, and skill development programs.
- Maintain inventory and ensure availability of emergency supplies.
- Provide support in crowd control and patient handling during high-pressure situations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Maintain professionalism, patient confidentiality, and ethical standards at all times.
