Microbiologist

The Microbiologist will be responsible for supervising microbiology diagnostics, culture testing, antimicrobial sensitivity reporting, infection control support, quality documentation, and clinical coordination at NKS Super Speciality Hospital, Delhi. This requires MD or DNB Microbiology qualification with minimum 1 year of experience in microbiology services.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Supervise microbiology sample processing, culture testing, and diagnostic reporting.
• Review culture sensitivity reports, microscopy findings, and infection markers.
• Coordinate with clinicians, ICU, infection control, nursing, and laboratory teams.
• Report critical culture findings and antimicrobial sensitivity results promptly.
• Guide laboratory staff on microbiology SOPs, biosafety, and sample handling.
• Monitor sample quality, reporting accuracy, and turnaround time.
• Maintain microbiology records, worksheets, logbooks, QC data, and documentation.
• Support infection control activities, surveillance, and hospital antibiotic stewardship.
• Follow biosafety, GLP, infection control, and laboratory quality standards.
• Participate in audits, quality improvement, and laboratory process reviews.
• Communicate clinically important results to treating doctors when required.
• Ensure accurate, timely, and clinically useful microbiology reporting.
