The Nursing Night Supervisor will be responsible for supervising nursing services during night shifts, ensuring patient care quality, staff coordination, emergency response, documentation review, and smooth hospital operations. This requires strong nursing leadership, clinical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to manage critical situations independently. The candidate will support safe patient care and disciplined nursing workflow during night duty.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing staff and patient care activities during night shifts.
- Monitor ward, ICU, emergency, OT, and assigned nursing areas as per duty responsibility.
- Ensure proper medication administration, patient monitoring, and nursing documentation.
- Guide nurses during emergencies, patient deterioration, admissions, transfers, and procedures.
- Coordinate with duty doctors, consultants, nursing staff, administration, and support teams.
- Review handover records, medication charts, nursing notes, and patient care updates.
- Ensure adequate manpower allocation and proper shift-wise duty management.
- Handle patient and relative concerns related to nursing care during night duty.
- Monitor infection control, biomedical waste, patient safety, and hospital protocols.
- Ensure emergency trolley, equipment, oxygen, and critical supplies are available and ready.
- Report critical incidents, patient complaints, staff issues, or operational problems to seniors.
- Support code blue, emergency response, and rapid patient stabilization when required.
- Maintain discipline, grooming, punctuality, and professional conduct among nursing staff.
- Prepare night shift reports, incident reports, and nursing supervision updates.
- Promote safe, compassionate, and quality nursing care throughout the night shift.
