The OT Technician will be responsible for preparing operation theatre equipment, surgical instruments, procedure materials, and technical support for surgeries. This requires knowledge of OT equipment, sterilization support, patient positioning, surgical assistance, infection control, and documentation. The candidate will work closely with surgeons, anesthetists, OT nurses, CSSD, and support teams to ensure safe and efficient OT operations.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare operation theatre, surgical instruments, equipment, and consumables before procedures.
- Check OT lights, suction, cautery, monitors, anesthesia support equipment, and emergency items.
- Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and OT nurses during surgical procedures as required.
- Support patient shifting, positioning, draping assistance, and procedure preparation.
- Maintain sterile field support, aseptic practices, and infection control standards.
- Coordinate with CSSD for sterilized instruments and surgical set availability.
- Handle surgical instruments, equipment, and technical materials carefully.
- Maintain OT equipment logs, procedure support records, and material usage details.
- Assist in cleaning, disinfection, fumigation support, and OT room turnover activities.
- Report equipment malfunction, instrument shortage, or technical issues to seniors immediately.
- Support emergency OT preparation and urgent procedure readiness.
- Follow biomedical waste segregation and safe disposal practices inside OT.
- Maintain proper arrangement of OT equipment, trolleys, instruments, and supplies.
- Follow hospital SOPs, PPE requirements, and safety guidelines during duty.
- Ensure smooth technical support for safe and timely surgical care.
