Executive Billing

Executive – Billing is responsible for managing accurate and timely billing processes for OPD, IPD, and day care services while ensuring smooth financial coordination with patients and hospital departments. The involves verifying prescriptions, investigations, procedures, generating bills through HMIS systems, collecting payments, maintaining billing records, and ensuring compliance with hospital billing policies and procedures.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Handle OPD, IPD, and day care billing processes for patient services and treatments.
• Verify doctor prescriptions, investigations, procedures, and treatment details before bill generation.
• Ensure accurate selection of investigation codes, procedure codes, and tariff details in the HMIS system.
• Coordinate with clinicians and departments to resolve billing-related discrepancies when required.
• Communicate estimated billing amounts and payment details to patients or attendants clearly.
• Obtain patient or customer concurrence before initiating final bill generation.
• Generate bills accurately after confirming prescribed investigations and procedures.
• Ensure correct payment collection from patients, corporate clients, or referral cases.
• Issue payment receipts and provide billing-related guidance to patients regarding further procedures or investigation locations.
• Maintain proper documentation of bills, receipts, referrals, and supporting records.
• Collect referral letters and required documents from corporate or credit patients.
• Enter patient billing data accurately into the hospital management system.
• File and maintain copies of bills along with referral letters and billing documents systematically.
• Generate shift-wise MIS reports related to cash collections, billing transactions, case-wise, and corporate-wise billing details.
• Reconcile daily collections, receipts, and billing transactions accurately.
• Coordinate with insurance, TPA, and corporate billing teams when required.
• Ensure compliance with hospital billing policies, financial procedures, and operational guidelines.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient billing records and financial information.
• Handle patient billing queries, complaints, and payment-related concerns professionally.
• Support smooth patient flow by ensuring timely billing and payment processing.
• Monitor pending payments and coordinate for timely collections when necessary.
• Maintain professionalism, accuracy, and customer service standards during all billing activities.
• Participate in audits, reporting activities, and departmental process improvement initiatives.
• Perform additional billing and administrative responsibilities assigned by supervisors or management.
