PICU Incharge

The PICU Incharge will supervise pediatric intensive care nursing operations, critical patient monitoring, staff coordination, emergency readiness, documentation, infection control, and patient safety at Ankura Hospital, Hyderabad. This requires GNM or B.Sc Nursing with Registration Certificate and 1–2 years of experience in PICU, pediatric ICU, critical care, patient monitoring, and emergency care.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Supervise daily PICU nursing activities and ensure safe pediatric critical care delivery.
• Monitor critically ill pediatric patients, vital signs, oxygen saturation, intake-output, pain score, and clinical condition.
• Guide nurses on medication safety, pediatric patient monitoring, emergency care, documentation, and handover process.
• Coordinate with pediatric intensivists, consultants, nursing staff, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, billing, and patient care teams.
• Ensure emergency equipment, oxygen, suction, crash cart, monitors, and PICU consumables are ready.
• Review PICU charts, nursing notes, medication records, intake-output records, and shift handover documentation.
• Support admission, transfer, discharge, shifting, and emergency pediatric patient movement.
• Ensure infection control, hand hygiene, PPE, isolation, and biomedical waste management protocols are followed.
• Report patient deterioration, abnormal vitals, seizure activity, respiratory distress, or urgent clinical changes immediately.
• Support staff duty allocation, supervision, training, and PICU workflow discipline.
• Maintain child safety, privacy, dignity, and family-friendly communication.
• Ensure safe, organized, alert, and compassionate PICU nursing services.
