The Senior Resident Critical Care will manage ICU patient monitoring, emergency medicine support, ventilator care, critical patient stabilization, consultant coordination, and intensive care documentation at Fortis Hospitals, Kolkata. This requires MD, DNB Anaesthesia, or Critical Care qualification with 4–8 years of experience.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and manage critically ill patients in ICU, emergency, and high-dependency areas.
- Monitor vitals, ventilator parameters, oxygenation, ABG reports, fluid balance, sepsis markers, and treatment response.
- Assist intensivists and consultants during ICU rounds, emergency procedures, resuscitation, and critical reviews.
- Support airway management, ventilator care, hemodynamic support, oxygen therapy, and emergency stabilization.
- Manage critical conditions such as sepsis, shock, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, and neurological deterioration under senior guidance.
- Maintain ICU case sheets, progress notes, medication records, procedure notes, and handover documentation.
- Coordinate with ICU nurses, emergency team, anaesthesia team, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, and billing departments.
- Escalate abnormal reports, patient deterioration, ventilator issues, or critical changes immediately.
- Support admission, transfer, discharge, and safe movement of critically ill patients.
- Follow ICU protocols, infection control, medication safety, bundle care, and patient safety standards.
- Counsel relatives under senior guidance regarding patient condition and care updates.
- Deliver timely, safe, ethical, and evidence-based critical care support.
