Ward Nurse

The Ward Nurse will provide ward nursing care, bedside patient support, medication administration, patient monitoring, clinical documentation, and compassionate nursing service at Fortis Hospitals, Kolkata. This requires GNM or B.Sc Nursing qualification with 0–7 years of experience in ward nursing, patient care, medication administration, and nursing.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide bedside nursing care to patients admitted in ward or assigned clinical areas.
• Monitor vital signs, pain level, oxygen saturation, symptoms, intake-output, and treatment response.
• Administer medicines, injections, IV fluids, oxygen, and prescribed nursing care safely.
• Assist doctors during rounds, dressing, procedures, patient review, and emergency care.
• Maintain nursing notes, medication charts, patient care records, and shift handover documentation.
• Support patient admission, transfer, discharge, shifting, and ward coordination activities.
• Prepare patients for investigations, procedures, diagnostic visits, and discharge process.
• Report abnormal vitals, patient deterioration, medication reactions, or urgent concerns promptly.
• Coordinate with doctors, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, billing, housekeeping, and patient care teams.
• Follow infection control, hand hygiene, PPE, biomedical waste, and patient safety standards.
• Maintain patient comfort, privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
• Deliver safe, respectful, disciplined, and patient-centered ward nursing care.
