The Pharmacist will manage medicine dispensing, prescription verification, pharmacy stock support, inventory handling, pharmacovigilance awareness, medication safety, and patient guidance at Fortis Hospitals, Kolkata. This requires D.Pharm or B.Pharm qualification with 0–3 years of experience in pharmacy, pharma, pharmaceutical services, medicine handling, inventory, and pharmacovigilance.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Dispense medicines as per valid doctor prescriptions and hospital pharmacy policy.
- Verify medicine name, dose, quantity, expiry date, batch number, route, and billing details before issue.
- Guide patients and attendants on medicine usage, dosage timing, storage, precautions, and follow-up instructions.
- Maintain pharmacy stock records, issue entries, purchase records, expiry records, and documentation.
- Monitor expiry, near-expiry, shortage, damaged stock, fast-moving medicines, and reorder requirements.
- Arrange medicines properly with correct labeling, storage, segregation, and traceability.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, billing, purchase, stores, and pharmacy team.
- Maintain proper storage of emergency, high-alert, narcotic, and temperature-sensitive medicines as per policy.
- Support stock audit, inventory reconciliation, and discrepancy reporting.
- Report adverse drug reactions, medication errors, or pharmacovigilance concerns through proper channels.
- Follow pharmacy regulations, hospital SOPs, medication safety, and patient confidentiality standards.
- Ensure safe, accurate, ethical, and patient-friendly pharmacy service delivery.
