Lab Technician

The Lab Technician will be responsible for performing routine and specialized laboratory tests, handling and processing patient samples, and maintaining laboratory equipment. The involves ensuring accuracy in test results, adhering to quality standards, and following strict safety and infection control protocols to support the hospital’s diagnostic services.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Perform routine laboratory tests in hematology, biochemistry, and pathology as per standard protocols.
• Collect, label, and process blood and other biological samples with accuracy and care.
• Prepare reagents and solutions required for various laboratory tests.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Ensure accurate documentation, validation, and timely reporting of test results.
• Follow infection control practices and laboratory safety guidelines at all times.
• Maintain proper records of tests, samples, and quality control measures.
• Conduct internal quality checks and assist in external quality assurance programs.
• Coordinate with doctors and senior lab staff for test requirements and clarifications.
• Handle and dispose of biomedical waste as per regulatory guidelines.
• Monitor stock levels and assist in inventory management of laboratory supplies.
• Report any equipment malfunction or abnormal test results to senior staff immediately.
• Support accreditation and audit processes by maintaining required documentation.
